Scotwhat it takes! Is a versatile band, ideal for a range of functions and events. We can play it soft and mellow for ambient background, or loud and swinging. Scotwhat it takes is also available in its trio version Scotfree. Let us know what you want!

Our Music

We play a variety of styles of music, but for the most part we are interested in playing the great jazz songs of the Twentieth Century. From early dance band music in the Twenties, through the Golden era of the Thirties, including our fascination with the Gypsy Swing popularised by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelly, into the Swinging Forties, the wild scat and be-bop of the Fifties.

Recently we have been including more Latin and African jazz numbers as we continue to explore the vast repertoire of music available to us!
